When moving house it’s very important to be aware of items that are classified as dangerous goods and cannot be moved by your moving company.
You will need to arrange transport of these items yourself or with a transport company who is licensed to carry dangerous goods. Alternatively, you can dispose of them safely before moving.

- Kerosene
- Turpentine
- Pure alcohol
- Methylated spirits
Class 4: Flammable solids
- Matches
Class 5: Oxidising substances
- Ammonium nitrate
- Potassium nitrate
- Nitric acid
- Pool chemicals
Class 6: Substances toxic to people
- Arsenic
- Polishes
- Pesticides
- Weed killers
- Lead compounds
Class 8: Corrosive substances
- Oxides
- Mercury
- Caustic solutions
Class 9: Miscellaneous
- Scuba tanks (if not emptied)
- Firearms
- Irritants
